If You Want to Catch a Cat… Just Put Down a Box
Yesterday, we needed to take Kazu to the vet.
What should have been simple turned into a full chase around the garden.
He ran, dodged, and climbed the tallest tree he could find—refusing to come down.
We tried everything.
Food. Calling his name. Waiting patiently.
Nothing worked.
The More We Tried, the More He Resisted
The harder we pushed, the more determined he became to stay away.
It felt like a small battle—one we weren’t winning.
So eventually… we gave up.
The Unexpected Solution
We stopped chasing.
Stopped trying to control the moment.
And simply put the carrier down.
A few seconds passed.
Then—
“Oh, a box,” Kazu seemed to think…
…and walked straight into it.
A Small Lesson
Sometimes, the more we chase something, the further it runs.
The more pressure we apply, the more resistance we create.
But when we pause—when we step back and let things settle—
solutions appear in the simplest ways.
Maybe It’s Not About Chasing
Maybe it’s about creating the right space.
Letting things come to you, instead of forcing them.
Trusting that not everything needs to be controlled to be resolved.
Because Sometimes…
If you want to catch a cat…
you just need to put down a box.
