About Author
Katya Carrington grew up surrounded by nature — fields, quiet spaces, and the kind of stillness where nothing was overlooked and every small detail felt important.
From an early age, she was drawn to the idea that there is never just one world. She noticed the worlds of animals, the quiet life of insects, and the way everything around her was constantly moving with life. She would often sit and observe for long periods of time, simply watching, noticing, and taking it all in.
Today, as a primary school teacher and an artist, this way of seeing continues to shape her work. She remains deeply connected to the sense of curiosity and imagination that children naturally carry, and she brings that same openness into her stories , illustrations and her class .
She loves sharing her stories with the children she teaches — watching them become inspired, begin to believe in their own ideas, and even start creating stories themselves.
Although stories had always been part of her world, they were never written. Until one moment when everything shifted.
For the first time, she was not just observing a story, but living inside it. It stayed with her so deeply that she felt compelled to give it a voice — to let it exist beyond that moment. That story became Lucky.
Through her work, Katya invites others to see that the world is not just one place, but many — layered, alive, and waiting to be noticed.
And perhaps, in each of these worlds, there is a chance to step in, take part, and leave something behind — something kind, something brave, something better than before.
